@dmk This is happening in some places in Rennes/France, but not nearly fast enough to my taste. In some places where it happened, somtimes cars are banned for one or two days in summer and people get out with tables, kids with toys and stuff, and it feels so alive. The only thing missing is grass everywhere.
Cars ruin cities and should be reserved to people who strictly need them IMO.
@Hiro Well, it is hard to change the current destructive habits regarding cars. No wonder, since a whole industry depends on it, and does everything to maintain the status quo. These few days where cars are banned give at least some inspiration to people about what could be. Couldn't agree more with your last paragraph.
